Ruapehu District Council
The Ruapehu District Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of nine councillors and the mayor. Councillors are elected to represent wards (areas in the district). Three councillors will be elected from the Ruapehu Māori ward. This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. Why I'm standing
I am running because we need to homes for our whānau and to support growth in our region. More homes = more Jobs = more Families = more money for our district and community. Youth training and getting our rangatahi employed and lowering our youth unemployment rate.
About me
I am here to let our Māori community know that I represent you. I need your vote in the 2022 local election to ensure the job of the Māori ward is done right. I need your vote to be your voice within our council. I need your vote to make sure you are heard. I know I am your best choice for Māori ward because I get stuff done and I get it done right.
