  • Advocate for a strong platform for wellbeing by incorporating education and environmental experiences into our public facilities.

  • Lift the understanding of how amazing the region is. Rich in arts and history, supporting small regional museums brings culture and depth.

Support all sports and adventure activities. Southland is truly an adventure playground. Let's link the sea to the mountains.

Offer a variety of hospitality. I would love to see more vibrant community events being supported. Don't build the box, step outside of it.

  • Giving local community boards more autonomy in what their communities need is critical. Libraries, halls etc should be under their purview.

Encourage local solutions. Southland District Council used Auckland based consultants for a Tuatapere project and the report shows the lack of local inputs.

Listen better to community boards. As the Northern Board's canning of $250,000 of roofing work recently showed, trust communities to know best.

  • Remove funding for an Invercargill museum.

Support libraries. Look for ways to support people working to hold festivals/events.
