Why I'm standing

I wanted to see a more equitable representation of our communities at the leadership level.

About me

I have lived in Whaitara for 37 years and have 3 kids. My experience in farming, oil and gas, food production, civil construction and conservation give me a balanced perspective. I am a surfer, fisherman, sailor, trapper, and Rongoā practitioner. I consider service to my community as payback for raising me and payforward for raising my kids, and still believe in the saying, it takes a village to raise a child.

My priorities
  1. Review the current freshwater monitoring and management system so our rivers are at drinking quality.
  2. Improve our indigenous biodiversity measures and introduce modern Māori harvesting to manage it.
  3. Reduce the amount of vehicles on our roads by encouraging public transport and cycling.
