Thames-Coromandel District Council

Thames Ward
The Thames-Coromandel District Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of nine councillors and the mayor. Councillors are elected to represent wards (areas in the district). Three councillors will be elected from the Thames ward. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Thames-Coromandel District Council election.

Why I'm standing

I stand for council because of that which I am now aware, or 'know', of. He tangata he tangata he tangata…it is for the people and for all life, for whom I stand. Change must be from, with, of, and for, the people. So I stand for election to represent people and community. I do so with honesty, campaigning for truth knowledge and experience, to be shared as accepted, to simply work for everyone. Kia ora.

About me

I am honest. Before and above anything else. In all things and in all ways, I am honest. I've been on and off and in the Coromandel Peninsula now for over 50 years and I stand for change. An organic change. A change for people and a change for all life. I stand to try to ensure positive change for all of those who will follow us. Experience, very grateful experience alone, leads me here, now!

My priorities
  1. My first priority is to help coordinate knowledge amongst those who know whatever they do.
  2. To share my knowledge. To establish a foundation of knowledge for the benefit of all people.
  3. To help lessen the inefficiency. To help alleviate and to remove the senseless waste of resources.
