Why I'm standing

I believe the council and district is the best in the country and I want to maintain that. I am a sitting councillor proud of my achievements over 11 years service in local government. I do believe I can make a difference.

About me

I am a former lawyer and have lived or worked in the district for over 40 years. I hold several company directorships and have extensive local government experience. I was first elected to the Kaiapoi Borough Council in 1980 aged 26. I am a long time member of the Institute of Directors and have worked with many community groups at a local and national level. I was awarded a Queens Service Medal in 2019.

My priorities
  1. Support sustainable and affordable rates.
  2. Address climate change adaptation and sustainability.
  3. Retention of local services, three waters, Resource Management Act reforms and the future for local government. Localism
