Waimarino-Waiouru Community Board

The Waimarino-Waiouru Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Ruapehu District Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of six members: five members elected by voters, and one councillor from the Ruapehu District Council.  This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Waimarino-Waiouru Community Board election.

Why I'm standing

I love our region and believe it has so much to offer to locals and visitors alike. I want to engage and to listen, to advocate and support where needed. This is the place my family and I call home and this is my community, which I want to give back to.

About me

Over my years here I have been involved in giving back to the community through various volunteering and charity fundraising, including my current volunteer role on the Ohakune Events Charitable Trust.

My priorities
  1. Support initiatives to develop sustainable recreational activities such as mountain bike tracks.
  2. Support and promote cultural, sporting and community events in our region.
  3. New and upgraded footpaths to encourage total community access.
