Why I'm standing
As part of the 'Future Ohakune Governance Group', which oversees the public's feedback concerning town revitalisation, I have been frustrated with the costly time delays from council impacting growth and development of our area. I believe the region should encourage more visitors, therefore, we need our council to be more effective and efficient in looking after the infrastructure and community spaces.
About me
I have 16 years of hospitality and tourism experience in the Ruapehu region, I have owned a business here for the past six years and am invested in making positive changes that the whole community can benefit from. I am the current Chair of the Ohakune Events Charitable Trust, and through the events under our portfolio, we have been able to give back almost $30,000 to community organisations.
My priorities
- Providing the resources to effectively host more events over a wider range of interests.
- Ensuring that rate-payers money is fairly distributed throughout the whole region.
- Ensuring sufficient infrastructure upgrades to ensure robust residential growth continues.
