Why I'm standing

I'm standing for two main reasons: 1) Wainuiomata faces serious, unique challenges in this time but we're currently really under-represented at council. I want to bring a critical eye to council and update how it interacts with and serves the whole Wainuiomata community. 2) I'm tired of seeing huge money wasted on limited-benefit projects when we need to push for smart investment in guiding our young people, helping kaumatua, supporting local clubs and businesses, etc.

About me

I want to support my community with its unique needs and potentials. I believe my combination of community aroha and real world solution focus will be a great asset in this work. I run my own business, have volunteered with Love Wainuiomata and Kaibosh, and dealt with local councils for years including subdividing our home section and successfully getting tens of thousands of dollars from Kāpiti Council for a local recycling business.

My priorities
  1. Update the community board so the people of Wainuiomata get their priorities heard by council.
  2. Push the council to step up for Wainuiomata in this time of rapid change and development.
  3. Support on-the-ground programmes to support our rangitahi for their benefit and the whole community's.
