Why I'm standing

Wairoa is an untapped resource; we have the potential to grow the best food. We have one of the purist waters that come from Waikaremoana and our kaimoana is second to none. We have wildlife in abundance with the people to make it all work and there is room for more. The world is heading into harder times and we need to take hold of our region's destiny. Wairoa will survive and managed properly thrive.

About me

Faith, whānau and future are my core beliefs. I have been involved with many organisations and am currently a trustee in my church, marae, school board and whānau land. I understand the difference between managing a business and governance, as operating a successful business requires understanding governance. As chairman of the Waikaremoana Māori Committee I have experience in consulting with organisations such as ECNZ/GENISIS, HBRC, WDC, DOC, OTS, and associations and organisations of all kinds.

My priorities
  1. Engaging innovative creative entrepreneurs to advise on managing our natural resources.
  2. Review all council contracts to redefine and refine their purpose.
  3. Ensure the well-being of our community, covering all people in a meaningful and intentional way.
