Why I'm standing

The West Coast is a diverse community and I believe that it is important that around the council table there is a representative from all parts of the community not just one or two as there have been in the past.

About me

I am a civil engineer with experience in rivers, storm water and subdivisions, the main threats to the West Coast (apart from Wellington) are to our coasts and rivers. My professional experience enables me to make decisions based on sound judgement not just reactions. We need to plan for those eventualities not react to them.

My priorities
  1. Work with communities to develop a long term strategy to cope with the effects of climate change.
  2. Advocate for government subsidies for our rating districts.
  3. Prevent expenditure without ensuring that those who benefit and pay are aware of all the costs.
