Why I'm standing

I got into local government after seeing decisions made by elected members that didn't seem to be in the best interests of our residents. Western Bay of Plenty district is a great place to live, work and play. We can make it even better by maintaining vigil over the myriad of decisions that council makes every month. We need to ensure that the communities' voice is heard at the council table. I pledge ongoing commitment to that cause.

About me

I have lived and worked in Te Puke for 21 years now with my wife and two kids. Had a shop in the main street for seven years. Have volunteered hundreds of hours in community groups like Creative Te Puke, environmental, main street and cycleway/walkway development organisations and community board and council membership for many years. I have mechanical engineering qualifications and qualified Resource Management Act Commissioner with 'Excellence' results. I continue the ongoing fight for our communities.

My priorities
  1. Advocate for third access road in/out of Te Puke from the Pāpāmoa East Interchange to cater to growth.
  2. Complete the Western Bay of Plenty District Council district plan review so it reflects the wishes of the majority of our residents.
  3. Ensure infrastructure development in Te Puke keeps pace with developers' subdivision housing growth.
