Why I'm standing

I consider that I can contribute to the advancement of our wonderful town and outlying areas. The knowledge that I have gained over the last three years will enable me to continue to represent the residents' views and assist the councillors in their submissions to the main council meetings. For too long, this southeastern area has been neglected in the share of rates coming back into the area.

About me

A current member of the community board, I live in Whangamata with my wife. I am involved with Fire Service and was one of the founders of Menzshed. I am involved with Community Patrol and the Croquet Club. I stand for honesty, improved basic services and the advancement of our area. Through community groups that represent the residents of the area, we can ensure the wishes of the Community are heard by Thames-Coromandel District Council.

My priorities
  1. Equitable allocation to this ward considering that this area contributes 59% of the rates annually.
  2. Improved street lighting and footpath repairs. Improved drainage in flood-prone areas within the town.
  3. Housing and camping ground, and improved dump station not only for campers but backup for emergencies.
