The councillors and mayor make up the governing body, which shares governance of Auckland Council with the 21 local boards. The governing body is made up of 20 councillors plus the mayor. Councillors are elected to represent wards (areas in Auckland). one councillor will be elected from your ward. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Auckland Council election.

Why I'm standing

I love Auckland and my area Maungakiekie Tāmaki and want to do my bit to make it an even better place to be now and in the future.

About me

I have advocacy and legal experience working as a legal adviser for a government department for 14 years, governance experience from being on the local board since 2010 and as councillor for this area since 2018 so I know how council works. I am a resident of 19 years in this community and actively support many community groups in the area. I believe in strong communities and support council genuine engagement with the public.

My priorities
  1. Advocate for infrastructure to cater for the growth of the city and neighbourhoods.
  2. Support emergency management, upgraded stormwater systems, sponge city initiatives and coastal resilience.
  3. Look after communities with continued public services, wellbeing and social outcomes by council.
