Christchurch City Council
The Christchurch City Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of 16 councillors and the mayor. Councillors are elected to represent wards (areas in the city). one councillor will be elected from the Heathcote ward. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Why I'm standing
Christchurch is my home and I have lived here most of my life. This city has been good to me. I was educated here, I was married here, I have raised three kids here and built a business here. I feel it is time to now give back to the city I love.
About me
In this city I have spent the last 30 years working as a lawyer, a business owner and an independent director. I am a passionate local and believe that my education, business experience and life skills would be an asset to the council.
My priorities
- Tackle rising rates and council debt.
- Improve the delivery of local services on a financially responsible basis.
- Protect the environment.
