Why I'm standing

I believe our current extractive attitude to resource management is short-sighted and totally unsustainable. We must focus on longer-term cost and sustainability. Without a sustainable environment there is no sustainable economy or sustainable jobs, so environmental sustainability should be at the core of everything we do.

About me

I am an experienced environmental campaigner and science communicator. My experience of starting and being a leader in the campaign to regenerate the red zone shows I think creatively and push for what is right, even if it seems impossible. For eight years I've worked at Lincoln University helping scientists communicate research on climate change, braided rivers, nitrate pollution and more. I understand the science as a lay person and know what questions to ask.

My priorities
  1. Focus on environmental sustainability by cleaning our water, acting on climate change and halting biodiversity loss.
  2. Prioritise transport choices by promoting public transport in lower income areas where many have few choices.
  3. Improve transparency by making councillor voting records more visible so voters can hold them to account.
