Why I'm standing

I have a deep passion for Canterbury's wild spaces and biodiversity having researched endangered birds, worked as a fly-fishing guide on our rivers and worked as a tour guide promoting recreational sea fishing and foraging. I would like to see science used more in the decision-making process and to use my postgraduate skills. Also building local biodiversity and food resilience. We have stunning landscapes – for me Canterbury is my home.

About me

I have been involved in a diversity of community projects and believe in people having access to information to make informed decisions in a digital democracy. I am a good communicator and enjoy public speaking and engagement. My core beliefs are in equality and looking after the environment. I like to bring my creative perspective to find solutions to issues that enthuse and engage people. I firmly believe that passionate individuals can make a change.

My priorities
  1. Protect the quality of groundwater for north-east Christchurch by careful catchment management.
  2. Ensure that ratepayer money is not used to subsidise the agricultural consenting process.
  3. Ensure ratepayers have a say on decisions made on natural resources and access to technical reports.
