Why I'm standing

I am running because we face unprecedented government reforms alongside climate intensification challenges and economic pressures requiring proven transition leadership. Having navigated earthquake recovery and complex multi-agency coordination, I understand how to protect and advance our regional interests during major system changes. Canterbury needs representatives who can advocate effectively with central government, influence Three Waters and RMA reform implementation, and ensure our region's voice isn't lost, all while continuing to deliver and enhance our services.

About me

I bring fifteen years of crisis leadership through major system transitions, from earthquake recovery to navigating government agency restructuring while protecting community interests. My RMA Commissioner accreditation and recent doctoral graduation and experience founding sustainable businesses provide the analytical rigor needed for complex regional decisions. As former city councillor and current regional leader, I understand how to navigate competing interests while staying focused on evidence-based outcomes that deliver practical results for ratepayers and communities.

My priorities
  1. Deploy real-time flood sensors with automated alerts because climate change demands proactive action.
  2. Streamline resource consents with guaranteed timeframes as regulatory delays stifle business growth.
  3. Achieve swimmable water quality in all Canterbury rivers within 10 years with land use controls.
