Mayor of Far North District

The mayor is the leader of the council. Their job is to promote a vision for the district and lead the development of the council’s plans, policies and budget. The mayor appoints the deputy mayor, establishes committees for particular topics, and appoints chairs for those committees. This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. Why I'm standing

I have served as the Mayor the Far North for the past three years, and despite significant challenges, have achieved a lot. Looking ahead the next council will tackle big decisions on everything that matters to Far Northerners and we need positive, steady leadership to navigate what's ahead to ensure the Far North is set up for long-term success. I'm committed to leading a transparent, engaged and forward-focused council gets us forward together!

About me

I am a proud Far Northerner with my feet on the ground, and the energy and enthusiasm to continue to lead our district forward. The Far North is a huge district, with many diverse communities from coast to coast. In the previous campaign I stood to be a mayor for all. I have stood by that, and have worked to represent and see wins for every community from our largest towns to our smallest settlements.

My priorities
  1. Align governance and operations for infrastructure and service delivery cost savings and efficiencies.
  2. Embed a solutions-focused, customer-service culture at FNDC that delivers for residents.
  3. Boost partnership and collaboration both public and private for coordinated success.
