Why I'm standing

I enjoy being the Wairarapa voice at the regional council table and have a proven track record of collaboration and influence with my colleagues. I am working for Wairarapa with huge investment in flood resilience and our new train service already underway. I would like to finish the job I started.

About me

I am the most experienced candidate in Wairarapa local government politics out of all the candidates standing. From community board to mayor to regional council, I treat people as I wish to be treated. Fronting up face to face is my style rather than social media wars and I prefer solutions to arguments. I take my role as deputy chair of the regional council seriously but give my Wairarapa constituency work priority whenever possible.

My priorities
  1. Support the development of a streamlined, united local government model for Wairarapa.
  2. See the new train service for Wairarapa and its associated infrastructure through to fruition.
  3. Increase budget for flood resilience and warnings to protect against major weather events.
