Wairarapa General Constituency
The Greater Wellington Regional Council makes decisions about managing resources in the region, such as air, water, soil and the coastline. It also carries out plant and pest control, helps prepare for natural disasters, and is involved in regional transport. The council is made up of 14 councillors. Councillors are elected to represent constituencies (areas in the region). one councillor will be elected from the Wairarapa constituency.     Continue advocating for education and mitigation before enforcement.

    Increase the budget for pest control.

  • Restore proper pest management with community engagement instead of resting on laurels and then having to commence the whole programme again.

    Stop using the RMA to justify excessive Greater Wellington Regional Council policies that go beyond legislative requirements, adding compliance costs to farmers.
