Why I'm standing

I am an environmental practitioner at heart and am making the move from localised cultural impact assessments to governance across environmental processes and agencies. I have depth of knowledge in mātauranga and te ao Māori and want to share this in spaces that will benefit from marrying western modern science with indigenous knowledge and practice. I want to see these things happen in my lifetime, to preserve the lifetimes of generations to come.

About me

My CV, work history and upbringing speak for itself. I have core governance and management skills that set me apart from other candidates. I am values driven and solutions focussed. I work hard to evoke the epitome of environmental protection, preservation and conservation. I want a legacy for my moko, one I am proud of, one that reaps benefits for him and his moko. A legacy of leaving this place better than we found it.

My priorities
  1. Find water solutions rather than rely on a single solution.
  2. Centre council core business in reducing or stopping increases in rates.
  3. Increase environmental protection and introduce heftier penalties for offenders, which could be a new revenue stream.
