Why I'm standing

I'm standing for the Māori ward to ensure our voices and values shape council decisions. With experience in iwi partnerships, council processes and community development, I know how to get things done. My priorities are keeping rates affordable, protecting waterways and the environment, supporting housing and papakāinga, investing wisely in infrastructure and transport. As a connector and enabler, I'll ensure Māori voices are heard that lead the way for strong, resilient communities and future generations.

About me

I bring proven experience in council processes, governance and community development, having worked alongside Councillor Robert Ketu and in partnership with HDC, Horizons, NZTA and iwi. My strengths as a connector, communicator and enabler are backed by iwi, hapū and marae support across the motu. I stand on principles of collective leadership, environmental protection, affordable growth and a Māori worldview—ensuring Māori voices are not only heard but shape decisions for present and future generations.

My priorities
  1. Champion Māori voices, protect environment and waterways, enable sustainable community growth.
  2. Connect communities, uphold Māori values and drive growth in housing, infrastructure and wellbeing.
  3. Strengthen iwi-hapū partnerships, safeguard environment and ensure decisions reflect Māori needs.
