Why I'm standing

After 3 years serving as Horowhenua Māori Ward councillor, I'm standing again - because experience matters, continuity provides stability, and there's still mahi to do. My motivation remains the same: whānau me te whenua, tāngata me te taiao - our people and environment. And as always, it's for the love of Horowhenua, my tūrangawaewae. I'm proud of what's been achieved so far, and I'm not done yet.

About me

Over the past three years at Council, I've built strong relationships and contributed to decisions that matter — guided by a kaupapa Māori lens. I've advocated for better engagement with hapū and iwi and helped lay the foundations for more meaningful partnerships between Māori and council. With over 30 years of governance and deep community experience, I bring depth, stability and commitment to the role.

My priorities
  1. Manage rates responsibly.
  2. Support community wellbeing and affordable housing.
  3. Protect whenua and responsibly manage development.
