Paekākāriki-Raumati General Ward
The Kāpiti Coast District Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of ten councillors and the mayor. one councillor will be elected from the Paekākāriki-Raumati ward. The other councillors will be elected from other wards or by all voters in the district. This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper.     Reduce waste via local recycling, composting and repair cafés, creating community value and practical, cost-effective circular solutions.

  • Continue support of predator-free work in Paekākāriki and Raumati, as well as across the district.

    Support Te Wharemauku Awa Rōpū to support the wellbeing of the Wharemauku Stream and associated wetlands.

    Support the ongoing work of the Whareroa Guardians Trust to preserve and enhance the Whareroa Farm Reserve.

  • Continue to improve council work and maintain waterways for improved conditions for all creatures great and small.

    Review plan to destroy a Raumati Beach reserve that restricts access and benefits private houses and get the Paekākāriki sea wall back on programme.

    Reopen the recycling plant and provide a wider range of recycling services and collection points.
