Why I'm standing

I believe current community board members are not re-standing. I have an appropriate skill set and the time to contribute to my area through the community board. I also believe that when there are a limited number of councillors, community board members provide a link between the community and elected councillors.

About me

I am now retired. I am a Chartered Engineer and project manager who worked in commercial infrastructure projects for 45 years, with over 20 years of that experience in Christchurch and Selwyn districts. I worked with diverse organisations and groups to understand requirements and outcomes sought. I think such experience would be an asset to the community board.

My priorities
  1. Promote sustainable infrastructure development within the community and available finances.
  2. Ensure that appropriate asset management plans are in place to maintain this infrastructure.
  3. Work with the rural community and farmers on policy development concerning shelter belts and road safety.
