Why I'm standing

I am a resident and community worker of 40 years in Mangere. I now have the time to reinvest my passion, experience and hopefully some wisdom back to the intergenerational wellbeing of Mangere Otahuhu. I believe I bring a wealth of networks and diverse relationships and have the skills to lead at a local board level.

About me

I have 40 years' experience leading local organisations and networks in health, education, sports and social services. I am well connected and respectful of networks and communities locally, regionally and nationally. I have lived in Mangere since 1990 but have worked here since the 1970s. I have seen my children grow to adulthood in Māngere Ōtāhuhu and now see some of my moko thriving in our local community and neighbourhood.

My priorities
  1. Establish an inclusive and diverse local board and encourage participation.
  2. Celebrate and utilise local networks, passion and expertise.
  3. Ensure we have the natural and built environment which enables both present and future wellbeing.
