Māngere-Ōtāhuhu Local Board

The Māngere-Ōtāhuhu Local Board is one of 21 local boards in Auckland. The local board makes a plan for your area and decides on local issues, activities and facilities. It also oversees council services and facilities in your area, including libraries and parks. The local board is made up of seven members. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.   • Design an emergency management plan to allow residents and others to safely move in and out of Mangere Otahuhu in times of emergency or crisis.

    Support local initiatives for cycling and public transport with micro hubs and a local mini bus system.

    Work with government and council to have an inclusive, sustainable transport plan connecting public transport, cycling and walking.

  • Ensure the local board receives its equitable share of transport funding to address transport inequities and barriers.

    Establish a free bus route that traverses the most commonly travelled route in the local board.

    Improve multi-modal options for the community, namely walking and fitness infrastructure for the community to utilise.
