The Maungakiekie-Tāmaki Local Board is one of 21 local boards in Auckland. The local board makes a plan for your area and decides on local issues, activities and facilities. It also oversees council services and facilities in your area, including libraries and parks. The local board is made up of seven members. Members are elected to represent different subdivisions within the local board area. four members will be elected from your area. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.     Strengthen relationships and networks with local community groups already delivering services that address particular needs.

    Work with local business associations to keep shopping areas clean and tidy and ensure shop awnings, including council shops, are fixed up.

  • Advocate for improvements to town centres to encourage people to shop and socialise locally, supporting local businesses and creating jobs.

    Advocate for projects like Unlock Panmure and Transform Onehunga to be advanced to revitalise town centre areas.

    Work with local businesses and business associations to create initiatives that encourage people to shop locally, boosting the economy.
