Why I'm standing

Councils, community and local boards have a huge role to play in supporting the wellbeing of people, families and communities. I want to support that vision by working hard for a safe, accessible and resilient Napier with adequate housing, infrastructure and low rates. I would be proud to continue serving the community as I currently do by bringing more community voices to the table, including people who don't feel heard at present.

About me

Taiatini is a proud resident of Onekawa who thrives in the social work sector supporting vulnerable families within the Napier Central Ward – Onekawa, Pirimai, Marewa, Maraenui and Tamatea. A past president of the EIT Students' Association and currently a board of trustees member at Tamatea High School. Taiatini grasps at every opportunity to give back by volunteering for community initiatives. Taiatini grows fruit and vegetables to share with the community encouraging sustainable living practices.

My priorities
  1. Meaningful community engagement to encourage safe, accessible and resilient communities.
  2. Streamline sources of income to maintain core services, lower rates and invest in infrastructure.
  3. Support sustainable housing growth, working with central government to advocate for more funding.
