Why I'm standing

My name is Zak Tulua, 22, a Samoan student raised in South Auckland. I'm running because it's time for young people to have a real say in decisions that affect our communities. Local issues matter to me because they impact my family, friends and neighbours, and I want South Auckland to thrive for everyone who calls it home, especially our next generation.

About me

I will make a great local board member because I am deeply connected to South Auckland Ōtara, having grown up here and experienced the challenges our communities face. As a 22-year-old Samoan student, I bring fresh energy, fresh perspectives and a passion for serving others. I am committed to listening to all voices, especially youth and Pasifika communities, and working collaboratively to make practical decisions that improve the lives of families, neighbours and future generations.

My priorities
  1. Amplify youth voices in local decision-making to ensure their perspectives shape community projects.
  2. Improve public transport to make getting to work, school and cultural hubs easier for Aotearoa.
  3. Support affordable, safe housing to ensure families can stay in South Auckland.
