The Ōtara-Papatoetoe Local Board is one of 21 local boards in Auckland. The local board makes a plan for your area and decides on local issues, activities and facilities. It also oversees council services and facilities in your area, including libraries and parks. The local board is made up of seven members. Members are elected to represent different subdivisions within the local board area. four members will be elected from your area. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Promote equity and justice in decision making and enhance ethnic diversity in decision making.

About me

I have academic background as former professor at Massey University and can think for myself in decision making. Also I have been in political life for over two decades first as an MP for three terms and now elected local board member for last nine years. Community service is my motto. I believe in teamwork and promote welfare of all people.

My priorities
  1. Establish a community centre in Papatoetoe.
  2. Develop Sports Bowl as leading sports complex for various sports.
  3. Encourage more tertiary facilities and major businesses in Manukau to attract visitors and students.
