Why I'm standing

I am running for election because I believe diversity deserves a voice. I believe that in the Ōtara-Papatoetoe Local Board there are currently no women, and despite around 40% of our population being Indian, representation in decision-making is minimal. I want to be inclusive and ensure all communities, including women and ethnic groups, are fairly represented and heard.

About me

I will make a good elected representative because I am committed, approachable and deeply connected to our community. I have lived locally for years and understand the challenges and opportunities our area faces. My experience as a marriage celebrant, justice of the peace and small business owner has taught me to listen, engage with diverse people and work collaboratively to solve problems. I am dedicated to being inclusive and ensuring that all voices in our community are heard.

My priorities
  1. Commit to a cleaner Papatoetoe through school education, hoardings and community clean-ups.
  2. Enhance safety with better lighting, security cameras and local crime awareness programs.
  3. Ensure wise use of community funds and reserves without unnecessarily raising rates.
