The Ōtara-Papatoetoe Local Board is one of 21 local boards in Auckland. The local board makes a plan for your area and decides on local issues, activities and facilities. It also oversees council services and facilities in your area, including libraries and parks. The local board is made up of seven members. Members are elected to represent different subdivisions within the local board area. four members will be elected from your area. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.     Promote ethnic participation in decision making and engagement.

  • Advocate for fair wages and safe working conditions for all council employees and contractors.

    Promote transparency by making council decisions clearer and easier for residents to follow and understand.

    Support Māori, ethnic and Pasifika representation by partnering with local places of worship and community groups.

  • Consult with Māori and ethnic communities to ensure local projects reflect Otara-Papatoetoe's diverse population.

    Ensure transparency by publishing board decisions, budgets and meeting outcomes online.
