The Ōtara-Papatoetoe Local Board is one of 21 local boards in Auckland. The local board makes a plan for your area and decides on local issues, activities and facilities. It also oversees council services and facilities in your area, including libraries and parks. The local board is made up of seven members. Members are elected to represent different subdivisions within the local board area. four members will be elected from your area. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.   • Continue to promote railway link from Puhinui railway station to Auckland Airport and promotion of airport to Botany fast bus and train linkage.

    Promote more road safety near schools and places of worship.

    Reduce traffic congestion, promote park and ride close to the two railway stations and enhance vertical housing near railway and bus stations.

  • Upgrade roads, footpaths and local car parks in Papatoetoe to improve safety and accessibility for all residents.

    Work with Auckland Transport to ease traffic congestion in Papatoetoe through smarter local traffic management.
