Ōtorohanga Community Board

The Ōtorohanga Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Ōtorohanga District Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of six members: four members elected by voters, and two members from the Ōtorohanga District Council. There will be no election this year because there are the same number of candidates as there are positions.

Councils are responsible for a wide range of utilities and services that we all rely on, from rubbish and recycling to street cleaning. But that may be about to change, with central government seeking to shift the delivery of Three Waters services to four new larger entities, which could borrow enough to upgrade the country’s water infrastructure.
