Paekākāriki Community Board

The Paekākāriki Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Kapiti Coast District Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of five members: four members elected by voters, and one member from the Kapiti Coast District Council.  This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Paekākāriki Community Board election.

Local democracy

Local government is a foundational part of our democracy. But local democracy isn’t just about holding elections every three years – it’s about the day-to-day ways people have their say in the decisions that affect us all.

  • Understanding cultural backgrounds and marginalised groups. Through whakapapa I represent Ngāti Toa, Haumia and Te Atiawa.

Maintain a pretty strong community in Paekākāriki regardless of who is elected to the board.

Engage with the wider Kāpiti community regarding kaupapa that affect us as a whole although this role is community focused.
