Why I'm standing

I am running as I want to see a well planned, functioning community where all people, big and small, have the facilities they need to live a safe, enjoyable, enriched life. I believe much of what council does is provide the community facilities, roads and transport options that make our lives better. I know there is never enough money to do everything, so making good decisions that help as many people as possible and protect the environment is essential.

About me

I am deeply involved in a wide range of community service organisations in the northwest area, including Huapai-Kumeu Lions, Kumeu Emergency Network, Flood Alerts, Kumeu Arts concerts, the Showgrounds and Kumeu Community Action. As a local board member, I must listen to all community voices and make decisions on balance. I do not have predetermined positions on governance matters but look at what the community needs to live safe, enjoyable, enriched lives.

My priorities
  1. Find solutions to daily congestion on SH16 by advocating for public transport options.
  2. Advocate for regular river and drain maintenance and stop houses being built on flood plains.
  3. Oppose new development in Riverhead, Kumeū-Huapai, Taupaki and Waimauku before infrastructure is built.
