Mayor of Selwyn

The mayor is the leader of the council. Their job is to promote a vision for the district and lead the development of the council’s plans, policies and budget. The mayor appoints the deputy mayor, establishes committees for particular topics, and appoints chairs for those committees. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Selwyn District Council mayoral election.

Why I'm standing

I'm standing because Selwyn deserves a real choice in this election. People are looking for change and for someone who brings a fresh perspective, not another councillor from the same system. I've run small businesses here, I've dealt with the same pressures as everyone else, and I want to carry that everyday experience into the role. For me, this is about service, not politics. It is about listening, learning and helping Selwyn thrive.

About me

I'll make a good elected representative because I'm practical and I get things done. I've built and run small businesses here, and I know what it's like to face the same challenges as everyone else. I'm not a career politician. I listen, I work hard, and I'll bring that same attitude into council to make sure the community is properly represented.

My priorities
  1. Improve transparency so residents clearly see how decisions and spending are made.
  2. Develop better transport so people can reach jobs, schools and community life.
  3. Ensure affordability so rates and services remain fair for families and businesses.
