Why I'm standing

I believe Southland is a great place to live. I admire the communities in this area and would be happy to work for them for a further three years.

About me

I have had eight terms as a councillor. I grew up and farmed for my working life in this area. I have had a lot of community, regional and some national governance experience. I had 18 years, mostly as chair, on school boards and have served as committee member, trustee or chair of many organisations. I have been awarded a QSM for community service. I believe in honesty, fairness and cooperation.

My priorities
  1. Make decisions that produce best possible value for ratepayers and people of Waihopai Toetoe ward.
  2. Budget and plan with focus on prudent spending and affordability for ratepayers.
  3. Advocate for the people and communities of the local ward and the wider Southland district.
