Taihape Community Board
The Taihape Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Rangitikei District Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of seven members: four members elected by voters, and three members from the Rangitikei District Council. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Why I'm standing
I would like to make a difference, and provide an example for some of the younger generation to step forward and be seen, to make change.
About me
I have spent most of my life in and around Taihape, been a part of the local Kohanga Reo and local schools in one capacity or another. Supported from an administrational space in local organisations, made mistakes and learned a lot, and now is a good time to start encouraging the next generation to come through and show their pride and commitment to a cause.
My priorities
- Encourage economic growth in Taihape.
- Support youth to step forward and use their voices to become leaders for their demographic.
- Show that we are not defined by colour, culture or gender, but by the character we show every day, audience or not.
