Mayor of Tasman
The mayor is the leader of the council. Their job is to promote a vision for the district and lead the development of the council’s plans, policies and budget. The mayor appoints the deputy mayor, establishes committees for particular topics, and appoints chairs for those committees. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Why I'm standing
Tasman is an amazing region with great communities and a diverse population and I am passionate about enabling it to grow as well as preserving what makes it a fantastic place to live, work, raise a family or retire.
About me
I believe my governance experience and understanding of the region's very different communities combined with strong working relationships across industry, business, environment, social and cultural entities and individuals means I am well placed to lead the council for the next three years.
My priorities
- Ensure sustainable finances that balance the needs of future generations with today's ratepayers.
- Continue investing in core infrastructure and facilities that support self-reliant communities.
- Deliver environmental management that balances use and protection of natural resources.
