Mayor of Tasman

The mayor is the leader of the council. Their job is to promote a vision for the district and lead the development of the council’s plans, policies and budget. The mayor appoints the deputy mayor, establishes committees for particular topics, and appoints chairs for those committees. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Tasman District Council mayoral election.

Why I'm standing

I'm running for Mayor of Tasman – not as a career politician, but as someone who believes we urgently need honesty, strategic thinking, and some basic business sense leading this council. In the situation we're in, that might matter more than polished spin or bureaucratic credentials.

About me

With a Master's degree, a career in urban design, and experience running my own business, I bring the skills and vision to help build stronger, safer communities while revitalising our towns and villages.

My priorities
  1. Focus on using existing infrastructure efficiently and improving oversight to keep rates down.
  2. Drive intensification of existing urban areas with well-designed and attractive development as key.
  3. Implement reforms to make TDC more transparent, democratic and accountable to Tasman residents.
