Why I'm standing

I believe it is essential that Māori perspectives are heard and valued at every level of governance, especially within local communities. I am committed to serving with integrity, advocating for equity, and ensuring the rohe is represented with strength and pride. I want to build a future where the voices of Kihikihi and Waipā, especially our Māori whānau, are central to shaping the decisions that affect us all.

About me

I am standing for the Kihikihi/Waipā ward because strong Māori representation matters. For over 20 years, I have worked to uplift Māori voices and improve outcomes for our people. As pouwhakahaere of kaitiaki services at Waiora Waikato Hospital, I have been a committed advocate for better Māori health and wellbeing. I also serve as a marae representative within Te Whakakitenga o Waikato, ensuring our tikanga and aspirations are upheld in key decision-making spaces.

My priorities
  1. Ensure that Māori are acknowledged and celebrated for their contributions to the community.
  2. Champion a community-focused way of living because it is not about any one individual but all.
  3. End racism at a council level and rebuild a united, collaborative community.
