Thames Community Board

The Thames Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Thames-Coromandel District Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of four members. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Thames Community Board election.

Whether public transport is the responsibility of the regional or local council depends on where you are in the country. Local councils also own 87% of New Zealand’s roads.

  • Eliminate one-way bridges and build a multitude of pull-over bays and stops fully serviced with toilets, barbecues and enhanced landscaping.

    Extensively enhance the existing rail trail through intensive treed boulevards and all support services en route including bicycle cafes.

    Support all existing public transport while exploring and fully satisfying any further needs in all forms of vehicles.
