Why I'm standing

I'm stepping up because our piece of paradise deserves leaders who live it. Tairua harbour and our surrounding settlements offer so much, yet they have often felt overlooked. Every decision must reflect who we are as a community. I'm not a polished public speaker, a journalist, or a lawyer. I'm a dad and a granddad who has worked alongside you. I bring a commonsense approach, a genuine commitment to every person who calls this place home.

About me

I live local full time, I volunteer and work locally. I am very experienced in governance with 20 years on large school boards; hence I understand the concept. I will challenge the big towns majorities and champion the smaller towns and settlements. My council vote will always prioritise the residents I represent. I won't be quiet at the table.

My priorities
  1. Improve the perception of transparency through publicly published user-friendly reports.
  2. Represent and prioritise residents and regular visitors as more than a holiday destination.
  3. Encourage local business employment, noting tradies, cleaners and care workers are our backbone.
