Whāingaroa General Ward
The Waikato District Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of 13 councillors and the mayor. Councillors are elected to represent wards (areas in the district). one councillor will be elected from the Whāingaroa ward. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Why I'm standing

I am proud to be from Whāingaroa/Raglan, I am a passionate advocate for our community and I am eager to continue to serve. I want to create more opportunities for community led decision making by working collaboratively with hapū, key organisations, stakeholders and our community. I bring my knowledge and experience from the past three terms as councillor, leadership and experience is key.

About me

I bring 9 years of experience and knowledge to the work of council, I am the chair of Sustainability and Wellbeing committee, I am on all committees of council, I have experience across all the business of council. I work hard and am always looking at ways to better serve our communities.

My priorities
  1. Embed newly established roading contracts across the district to ensure better roading outcomes.
  2. Ensure that land-based wastewater discharge is implemented.
  3. Continue to seek funding opportunities that support the community that is not rates funded.
