Thames-Coromandel General Constituency
The Waikato Regional Council makes decisions about managing resources in the region, such as air, water, soil and the coastline. It also carries out plant and pest control, helps prepare for natural disasters, and is involved in regional transport. The council is made up of 14 councillors. Councillors are elected to represent constituencies (areas in the region). one councillor will be elected from the Thames-Coromandel constituency. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Why I'm standing

I want to continue working on the community and environmental gains achieved over the last three years, while maintaining affordability.

About me

This is a governance role, and for the last three years I have chaired strategy and policy, submissions and dangerous dams committees. I am also appointed to three other Waikato Regional Council committees as well as three district council working groups on community adaptation and planning. I co-chair the Hauraki Gulf Forum and am a trustee of the Youth Ocean Trust. I have a proven record of being a strong local voice.

My priorities
  1. Focus on rates control.
  2. Balance social, economic and cultural values while protecting and improving our environment.
  3. Focus on fresh water quality and use.
