Why I'm standing

I enjoy the role, working for the community. I'm passionate about our environment and managing it in a way that enables our economy to thrive, but also ensuring future generations can benefit in the way we have. Our natural resources are a taonga and we have a responsibility to look after them. Getting the balance right has never been harder, but it's a challenge I'm up for. I want to make a positive difference.

About me

I'm committed to the role and bring a lot of experience and knowledge of council to the table. I believe that communities thrive when everyone contributes and makes decisions for the greater good. I'm passionate about the role of regional council and the value it can add when we get it right. We can always improve, and I'm supportive of reform providing it's evidence based and for the right reasons. I believe in democracy.

My priorities
  1. Support the CEO and his team to be the best they can and deliver on agreed objectives.
  2. Support farmers to implement Plan Change 1 in a fair and consistent manner to give effect to Te Ture Whaimana.
  3. Work constructively with Wellington to ensure local government reform delivers improved outcomes.
