Waimarino-Waiouru Community Board

The Waimarino-Waiouru Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Ruapehu District Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of six members: five members elected by voters, and one member from the Ruapehu District Council.  This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Waimarino-Waiouru Community Board election.

Why I'm standing

I believe Ruapehu needs a good cross section of residents and ratepayers to represent us all. I am excited that there are great candidates seeking election in all roles.

About me

I am a ratepayer in Horopito and an environmental scientist. I bring both local commitment and technical expertise to the table. I have a professional background that means I am skilled at interpreting complex reports and applying evidence-based thinking to decision-making.

My priorities
  1. Strengthen local preparedness, infrastructure and planning to adapt to the changing world.
  2. Support safe, healthy and affordable housing options with community input on appropriate zoning.
  3. Promote community events, markets and initiatives that attract visitors and customers.
