Why I'm standing

Waimate district is a great community. That is why we moved here, but it could do with fresh ideas to become a place people want to visit rather than just drive through. Many friends say they thought they drove through Waimate and are surprised when they visit what it has to offer. That is a missed opportunity for local businesses.

About me

I am the kind of person who looks for answers to problems. I don't like the modern throwaway society and believe that making use of the resources we have brings better value, but if needed, then developing new resources that will stand up to the test of time rather than short-term solutions.

My priorities
  1. Get the roading network up to a better standard as road condition is a common complaint.
  2. Get Local Water Done Well actually done as there has been lots of talk but no action.
  3. Increase interaction between councillors and council staff to find more efficiencies.
